Ecokins plush is crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled water bottles PET and recycled paper, which helps to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Wild Republic remains committed to their promise to the planet by decreasing the amount of plastic waste impacting our environment. Our focus is on preventing the 60 million single-use water bottles used daily from ending up in landfills.

So, how exactly do we transform water bottles into these adorable Ecokins stuffed animals? Well, first, the bottles are shredded, cleaned, sanitized, and melted down. From there, the fibers are spun into an incredibly soft fabric yarn, which is then used to create the fabric, fiber fill, and sewing thread for the plush toys. It's truly amazing to think that these cuddly creatures started out as water bottles. Even the embroidered eyes and nose are crafted from recycled thread, making them safe for babies.

In addition to using recycled materials for the plush toys, we also utilize recycled paper hangtags printed with soy ink and cotton string instead of plastic cord. The Ecokins 12" Cheetah, for example, is made from 16 recycled water bottles, making it the only plush toy currently on the market made entirely from post-consumer material.
